Zbyněk Baladrán and Jiří Kovanda: The Nervous System (Into Idea)
The book on which Zbyněk Baladrán and Jiří Kovanda worked together is the result of their collaboration on the exhibition "The Nervous System", which took place at Milano Kunstverein (2011) After the show they agreed that they would continue working together and attempt to transform their ideas into a book. They decided to create a conversation from several metaphorical strands of thought. The conversation took its form from the choice of images (brought by each of them to the first meeting) about which they spoke. And over time, the number of images continued to grow. Gradually, the conversation switched over to a strange format of thoughts, text fragments, images and drawings. Each of the two artists represents his own model of thoughts, set in the context of cultural realms (images, excerpts, other texts). Topics that they discuss are connected with their works and with human thought.
