"Ewa Partum, Monograph" is a bilingual Polish-English book that aims to provide an international public with printed material on the oeuvre of Ewa Partum, an eminent feminist conceptual artist from Poland who moved to Berlin in the 1980s. Her work was thus not present or recognized to a proper extent at the moment when, during the early 1990s, Poland's art scene reformulated its institutional system and subsequently wrote its own art histories. This lack of balance and Partum's absence in institutional and art-historical narratives was partly counterbalanced in 2006 by the major exhibitions of her work at the Wyspa Institute of Art (where a number of her works were revised for the purpose of exhibition) and the National Museum in Warsaw. Since then, her work has been acquired to major Polish and international art collections.
