2022

In 2022, WHW Akademija received a record number of over 300 applications from around the world, from which twelve participants from Northern Macedonia, Croatia, Mexico, Montenegro, Ukraine, Serbia, UK, Russia, Lebanon, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Syria were selected.
The resident professor throughout the 2022 program was writer and curator Ivana Bago, who developed a mentoring program in collaboration with participants and facilitating regular meetings with students online and offline. Guest professors were Tim Etchells, Vlatka Horvat and Pablo Martínez who held the intensive workshops and mentoring sessions consisting of both collective and individual critiques with the participants in online and physical encounters. Additionally, the program included two shorter seminars led by Zbyněk Baladrán and Daniela Ortiz. WHW itself provided mentoring support throughout the process.
The 4th edition of WHW Akademija was set up as a model that combines online and physical encounters and explores participatory modes of artistic and knowledge production based on the idea of collectivity and possibilities of co-learning. The year was focused on the notion of artistic ecologies that can foster interdisciplinary practice and cooperation, stimulate ideas, and engage communities.
