Das Ökonomieballett [The Economy Ballett] (2020)

Adapted by Pierre Bal-Blanc after Fernand Légers “Le Ballet Mécanique”, 1924

Franz Erhard Walther, who was honored with a Golden Lion for his life’s work at the Venice Art Biennale in 2017, completed his most recent “Gesamt-Kunstwerk” for the Erste Campus.

To celebrate this, the Kontakt Collection and the ERSTE Foundation invited to a performance by Franz Erhard Walther with a spatial work by Peter Kogler at the Atrium of the Erste Campus on Tuesday, 28 January 2020.

Franz Erhard Walther’s works are an integral part of the art in architecture ("Kunst am Bau") project at the Erste Campus. His work "Dreizehn Handlungsformen" consists of variously hued pieces displayed on the walls of the office levels at the Erste Campus.

The performance, which involved 26 Erste Group employees, activated and staged the “Work Pieces” ("Werkstücke") that he developed for the Campus. His performance was accompanied with a sound work by Matthieu Saladin as well as a new spatial work by Peter Kogler, who numbers among Austria’s most important present-day artists.
