In the "Manual" from the experimental video period, Dalibor Martinis recorded his movements with a camera whose tripod was poised on the palm of his, while he attempted, like an acrobat, to maintain his equilibrium. As extension of the artist’s body, the camera made copious use of the vertigo effect, underlining still more strongly the nature of this elusive medium. N.B.
