This object’s somewhat ironic title translates as “Construction Site Ladder”. It is actually a rope ladder whose rungs consist of the four sides of a traditional gilded picture frame. The rope ladder indicates liberation beyond the constraints entailed by the frame; however, Jehle’s ambiguous arrangement has this ladder attached to the ceiling in the middle of a room, thus affording not escape but perhaps some domestic pleasure.
